Description
Nanovex Biotechnologies provides Gold Nanoparticles capped with different ligands in order to help our customer to make progress in their specific applications. Nanoparticle surface modification is a key step to develop a reliable application.
Nanovex Gold Nanoparticles capped with Lipoic acid are versatile nanostructures. Lipoic acid possess a carboxylic acid group at one end and a dithiol group at the other end of their structure. The dithiol group will act as anchoring group to the gold surface of the nanoparticle.
The carboxylic group could be employed to perform a covalent linkage between the carboxylic group of gold nanoparticle and any molecule containing an amine group in their structure via EDC coupling through the formation of an amide group. Gold nanoparticle bioconjugates modified via covalent bond are more stable against desorption process than those obtained by simple passive adsorption.
Furthermore, the covalent conjugation of biomolecules to Nanovex Gold Nanoparticles is an alternative to avoid the loss of biofunctionality due to changes in the tertiary structure of the biomolecule.
Nanovex Lipoid Acid Gold Nanoparticles could be employed as a building block structure to perform the immobilization or molecules or biomolecules containing primary amine groups in their structure. Some applications are protein conjugation, western blot/dot blot, microscopy applications, lateral flow assays or ELISA.
Our lipoic acid funtionalized gold nanoparticles are available in different sizes ranging from 15 to 100 nm.
Our lipoic acid functionalized nanoparticles are supplied in water media in the absence of additional stabilizing agents or surfactants.
